Stephen Quiller Artists' Palettes

We now offer five unique versions of the Quiller Palette, and all of these palettes make my watercolor and color theory instruction so much easier. Everyone who has used them has found the palettes to be a great tool to ease their understanding of color.

The palette is arranged for the use of accurate mixing of primary, secondary, and intermediate colors. Indicator guides on the palette aid in locating analogous, complementary and triadic color relationships to ensure fresh, beautiful, harmonious color mixes—NOT MUD!

There are 12 extra pans around the wheel for other favorite colors, the “expanded palette.” Eight outside-corner basins are available to place earth (semi-neutral) colors or opaque water media. A very large inner-wheel mixing area is provided. SQ

Porcelain Palette

This elegant, hefty, and beautifully smooth palette is arranged for ease of mixing primary, secondary and intermediate colors. The heavyweight construction makes this palette ideal for studio use; it will not slide around. The porcelain surface prolongs moisture of paint and makes cleanup a snap. Great for watercolor paint. A wet sponge and the cover will keep your paint from drying during short breaks. Instruction guide is enclosed. 13” by 13” outside dimensions. SQ

Standard Palette

This plastic palette is ideal for transparent watercolor or the M. Graham gouache, and it can be used either in the studio or on-location. It comes with a form-fitting lid to keep the pigment moist. Enclosed is an instruction guide to help arrange the palette. 14” by 14” outside dimensions. SQ

Traveler Palette

This plastic palette is approximately 11½” by 14½” with the same round palette format as the standard Quiller Palette but with a smaller circumference, a brush holder and a side wash basin as well as the one in the center of the wheel. The side basin can be used to hold brushes while travelling. The lid fits snugly. Most importantly, this palette will fit inside many of the French easels. It fits easily in the Italian French style easel and with minor modifications, the Grumbacher and Jullian easels. It was designed this way to ease the cumbersome struggle of getting supplies to on-location painting sites. SQ

Stephen Quiller 12-Color & 25-Color Pre-Arranged Palettes

For many years we have sold our 12-color transparent watercolor set and the expanded 25-color set of paints. This year, however, we are offering these sets already arranged on the palette! Each well holds 5 ml. of watercolor paint and the palette arrives at your home or studio ready to go. The 12-color set will come in the Quiller Traveler Palette and the 25-color set in the Quiller Standard Palette unless otherwise specified. A diagram showing the placement of the color in the palette will accompany the order for future reference. SQ
