New & Improved Stephen Quiller Watermedia Brushes

These are the best synthetic brushes ever. They have an increased paint capacity, snap and come to a razor sharp point. We’ve made something great even better! I cannot believe how beautiful the experience of painting is with these brushes. I use them for all of my watermedia painting—from sensitive watercolor applications to bold and splashy opaque coverage in casein or acrylic.

Years ago synthetic brushes were not much more than chopped-up fishing line bundled up and stuck on the end of a handle. Today the brush maker has the ability to taper the strands of the fiber so that each strand comes to a fine point. With careful selection of 11 different weights of fiber strands the manufacturer can gently mix these into a marvelous brush head. The mixing of the weights is critical.

With just the right amount of thicker fiber you can get the right amount of hard snap to the brush. With the perfect mixture of a variety of thinner fibers the brush arrives at the perfect blend.

After many years of research and development, we have been able to change the way the ferrule of the 1½” and 2” flats are secured. The new style prevents water from seeping into the wood handle. They are a dream to work with. SQ
